All But 3 Winning Coaches Of The Prior 49 Super Bowls Are Descendants Of The Super Bowl Godfathers

Most people are unaware that every coach who ever won a Super Bowl coached directly under, or under coaches who coached under Sid Gillman, Paul Brown and Steve Owen, except 3 coaches.  These 3 men I call the Super Bowl Godfathers.

When I created the first NFL Laptop Playbook System Called ‘Game Prep’, I researched the legacy of every Super Bowl winning coach, and was astounded by this very fact.

* Hank Stram never previously coached in the NFL before becoming the Head Coach of the Dallas Texans, which was later named the Kansas City Chiefs.  He won Super Bowl IV as the Head Coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.

**  Jimmy Johnson never previously coached in the NFL before becoming the Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys.  He won Super Bowl XXVII and XXVIII as the Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

***  Barry Switzer never previously coached in the NFL before becoming the Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys.  He won Super Bowl XXX as the Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

Ron Rivera, who is the Carolina Panther’s Head Coach, is a descendant of Bill Walsh’s coaching tree, which means he is a coaching descendant of both Sid Gillman and Paul Brown.  Gary Kubiak, who is the Denver Bronco’s Head Coach, is a descendant of Tom Landry’s coaching tree, which means he is a coaching descendant of Steve Owen.  Coincidently, both coaches are descendants of all 3 Super Bowl Godfathers, which is why I gave them the title.
